Riders near the top of the timed hill climb section on Sumas Mountain in Abbotsford during this year’s Prospera Valley GranFondo bike race. The 160 km-long Gran Fondo, the longest of three race course distances, started at 7 a.m. in Fort Langley and wound its way east along the Canada-U.S. border before tackling a grueling hill climb on Sumas Mountain and then back down the mountain and west towards Glen Valley to finish in Fort Langley.
