The Campbell River Disc Golf Society held the Island Series Tournament on July 24 at the Cooper’s Hawk Disc Golf Course at Willow Point Park in Campbell River.
The tournament featured two rounds over the 19-hole, par-57 course, with pros playing from gold/blue tees, intermediates from blue tees and novice from red tees.
Matt Dixon won the MPO Pro Open, finishing 22 under par. He was followed by Andrew Leyland (-17) and Shane Dixon (-13).
Rob Laurie won the Pro Master 40+ at 4 under par, followed by Mike Graff (even) and Gabriel J Berry (+1).
The MA1 Advanced was won by Brian Sponselee (-10), followed by Sylvain Verrier (-8) and a three-way tie between Kevin Cruz, Trevor Melanson and Andy Henderson (all -2).
The MA2 Intermediate was won by Alejandro Mujica (-12), followed by Adam Sorensen (-7) and Nakia Pesicka (-5).
Gabrielle Lee (+8) won the Intermediate Women, with Sofia Donnecke placing second (+14).
Shane Delanger won the MA4 Novice, finishing 12 under par. He was followed by Corey Scheiding (-11) and Craig Burkitt (-9).
Kiane Scott (+2) won the Novice Women, followed by Hannah Porter (+6), with Emma Olmstead and Sonja Donnecke tied for third (+19).
