Classic and skate skiers alike headed to Hallis Lake Sunday, March 8 to compete in the second annual Cariboo Fun Freestyle Race.
The event saw 27 skiers hit the trails to test their grit on either an eight-kilometre, 16-kilometre or 24-kilometre course.
The incredible weather and excellently-maintained trails made for perfect conditions, as racers crossed the finish line with beaming smiles on their faces.
The eight-kilometre race saw Laura Balkwill place first with a time of 35:50, followed by Graham Balkwill, who took second place with a time of 38:35, and Reese Hamelin, who placed third with a time of 38:39.
The 16-kilometre race saw Isaac Woollends place first with a time of 1:15, followed by Jim Crellin, who took second place with a time of 1:19, and Gary Gale, who placed third with a time of 1:45.
The 24-kilometre race saw Chris Elden place first with a time of 1:29, followed by Kevin Sturt, who took second placed with a time of 1:32, and Tom Bailey, who placed third with a time of 1:51.
