Racers pedalled up mountains, over rocks and around trees during the Vedder Mountain Classic bike race on Saturday.
The Main XC event featured a long course (33.6 kilometres) and a 15.1-kilometre short course.
Chilliwack’s Ricky Federau placed first in the Long Course Elite Men division of the Main XC event with a time of 2:16:11.
The annual event began in 1985 and ran until the mid 1990s, and it was revived four years ago by a group of passionate volunteers who were eager to share some of the most spectacular single track trails that the Valley has to offer: epic climbs, technical sections, long descents, smooth rolling contours, rocks, roots and loam.
