THE Nanaimo Hornets weren’t able to get past their rivals in the playoffs.
The Cowichan Piggies defeated the Hornets 19-13 in the men’s Div. 1 Island semifinal Saturday at May Richards Bennett Pioneer Park.
“We had a lot of fundamental mistakes which we don’t usually make,” said Clive Stocks, the team’s coach.
James Sandifer and Tyler Cameron scored tries for Nanaimo and Brad Marshall kicked a penalty.
