A pair of dominant wins last week kept the Abbotsford Pilots well ahead of the pack in the Harold Brittain Conference standings.
The local junior B hockey club cruised past the Mission City Outlaws on Thursday, and followed that up by blasting the Ridge Meadows Flames 5-1 at MSA Arena on Friday.
The Pilots showcased a remarkable scoring balance, as the nine goals came from nine different players.
Michael Tebbutt, Danny Wilson, Ryan Parmar and Devon Allenby scored in the win over the Outlaws, and against the Flames, Joel Atkinson, Brett Kolins, Dakota Schipper, Kyle Star and Adam Rossi bulged the twine.
The Pilots (14-6-2, 30 points) boast a nine-point advantage on the Aldergrove Kodiaks for first place in the Brittain Conference of the Pacific Junior Hockey League. They play the Kodiaks on Wednesday (7:15 p.m., Aldergrove Community Arena), and host Mission on Friday (7:30 p.m., MSA Arena).
