The Piranhas had a small but mighty group of swimmers travel to the Creston swim meet last weekend. There were many close races and best times swam by the Piranha swimmers, and the team finished fifth overall.
Highlights of the weekend include the six Piranhas who qualified for the Eliminator Race on Sunday. Emma Lewis and Julie Chursinoff for the Division 1-3 girls, Lincoln Faulkner and Michael Konken for the Division 1-3 boys, and Jasmine Konken and Luella Faulkner for the Division 4-8 girls. Lincoln Faulkner won the Division 1- 3 boys group, and in addition to winning the Eliminator, Lincoln also got four meet records in Creston.
Isaac Friesen earned his first medal of the season finishing second overall in Division One boys.
Emma Lewis had another fantastic weekend finishing first overall in Division Two girls.
Julie Chursinoff also earned her first medal of the season finishing second overall in Division Three girls.
Division Three boys saw two Piranhas medal. Michael Konken placed second overall, and Lincoln Faulkner placed first overall.
Jasmine Konken placed first overall in a very competitive Division Five girls group.
Coach Jayden LeRoy also got her first medal of the season placing second overall in Division Six girls, and Coach Jessica Woods placed first overall in Division Eight girls to round out the medal count for the weekend.
The Piranhas came fifth with 293 points.
Four Piranhas also travelled to Port Coquitlam recently, and raced some really great times. Lincoln Faulkner medaled in all six events and had an amazing 50 breaststroke race. Michael Konken also had an amazing race in the 50 breaststroke, also bringing home a medal. Emma Lewis medaled in all of her events as well, and dropped lots of time in her races, while Luella Faulkner medaled in her 100 backstroke, and 50 freestyle in which she broke 30 seconds for the first time. Congratulations Piranhas!
