Pirates beaten by Blaze

The Nanaimo Pirates visited the Langley Blaze on Sunday in BCPBL action and were swept in a doubleheader by scores of 11-1 and 11-4.

The Hub City Paving Pirates visited the Langley Blaze on Sunday in B.C. Premier Baseball League action and were swept in a doubleheader by scores of 11-1 and 11-4.

The Pirates didn’t commit an error in the first game, but they surrendered double-digit hits in both contests.

In the first game, Alex Jinda had two hits and a stolen base for Nanaimo.

In the rematch, Finn Martin had two RBIs and Shane Rogers had a hit and an RBI.

GAME ON … The Pirates return home this Saturday (May 7) for a doubleheader against the defending-champion North Shore Twins. Game times are noon and 2:30 p.m. at Serauxmen Stadium. The Pirates will then head off on the road for a doubleheader against the White Rock Tritons on Sunday in South Surrey.
