The Pirates needed a win, and they got two. The Mid Island Pirates swept the White Rock Tritons on the road this past weekend in B.C. Premier Baseball League play, winning by scores of 7-5 and 6-3.
In the first game, Cole Anderson was the winning pitcher, throwing six innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits and striking out six. Alex Jinda earned the save. Graham Dube and Morley Scott each had a hit and two runs scored and Josh Hill had two RBIs.
In the second game, Jinda earned the win after two innings of relief. Gavin Pringle gave up one earned run over five innings. At the plate, Marcus Steen hit a single and a triple, Dube hit a single and a double, Ben Munger also had two hits and Billy Ramwell drove in two runs.
GAME ON … The Pirates host the Victoria Eagles on Wednesday (June 7) at 6:30 p.m. at Serauxmen Stadium.
