The Pitt Meadows Marauders Grade 8 girls’ basketball team finished second in the Capilano secondary tournament over the weekend.
Pitt will now play its first league game on Thursday, against Garibaldi, which will be a warmup for their home tournament starting Friday.
The Pitt junior girls’ finished fourth in their home tournament on Saturday, after losing a close bronze medal game against Dover Bay 25-27.
Kaylee Stewart received the Player of the Game award, while Chelayna Mathias was selected as all-star for her play throughout the tournament.
The junior girls are playing at PMSS at 5 p.m. on Thursday against Burnsview Secondary.
The senior girls’ have their first league game at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at Garibaldi secondary.
They will be leaving on Sunday for an eight-day, basketball-filled trip to Orlando, Florida.
