Pleasant conditions for Last Penticton Ironman

The last Subaru Canada Ironman in Penticton favoured the athletes with ideal end of summer weather conditions.

The last Subaru Canada Ironman in Penticton favoured the athletes with ideal end of summer weather conditions.

The 2,600 participants enjoyed sunny skies and warm conditions for race day. This year’s version saw eight contestants from the Okanagan Falls – Kaleden – Lower Similkameen areas take part in the race. Strong perennial local triathlete Scott Tremblay finished in 11th place this year, clocking in at 9:22:06, 15 minutes and three seconds behind last year’s 9:07:03, a time which gave Tremblay a ninth place finish last year, where similar race weather conditions prevailed.

Fifteen time local Ironman Milton Guignion turned in a better performance this year than last, placing 546th at 11:39:14  ahead of last year’s 565th place, 11:44:22 finish.
