Soccer player Connor Booth celebrates his team winning first place in final league playoffs with the cup and a thumbs-up.

Barriere youth Connor Booth, and his Kamloops Youth Soccer Association (KYSA)  U14/15 boys soccer team #6, ‘The Hoodlums’,  had an impressive season this year.

They tied for first place in the Mike Bartram Memorial Soccer Tournament at McArthur Island Park in Kamloops on May 6 and 7.  Mike Bartram was a dedicated KYSA volunteer who passed away from cancer in the year 2000.

With the help of two Kamloops coaches, Jeff Bolt and Bruce Vadnais, some words of wisdom from Thompson Rivers University Soccer team “ Wolf Pack”, and supportive parents as cheer leaders, ‘The Hoodlums’ ended their season by taking home the first place cup in the final league playoffs 4 – 3  in double overtime at McArthur Island Park on Sunday, June 26, 2011.
