Nine swimmers from Terrace made the trip to the Medical Sprints Fall Invitational swim meet in Prince George Nov. 18 – 20.
Travelling as a part of Points North, which is a combination team of athletes from Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Terrace and Smithers, a second place finish was secured by the northwest swimmers.
Head coach for the Terrace Bluebacks Nesia Bare said it was an excellent swim meet with 70 per cent best times overall.
“Everyone did very well,” Bare said.
Ainslie Hollett beat all of her previous swim times, taking 100 per cent personal best times at the meet.
Caleb McGrath Burke also swam 100 per cent personal best times, and qualified for provincials in three events. Angelina Filtziakis swam at 90 per cent personal best times.
Bare said her personal highlight at the meet was watching Anke de Wit beat her personal best time in the 100 meter breast stroke and qualify for her AA time, which will allow her to compete in that event at provincials.
