Their quest for a perfect season in the Vernon Co-Ed Slo-Pitch League’s Competitive Division ended two weeks away from playoffs, losing their last three games.
But Predator Trucking was perfect in the post-season.
The truckers began the playoff tournament with a 12-0, five-inning mercy-rule win over Swan Lake Motors, then avenged a loss to the Average Joes, who ended Predator’s perfect season bid, by thumping the Joes 13-2.
A 14-2 romp over Diablos gave Predator Trucking a bye to the finals, where they again faced the Joes.
Average Joes scored four runs in the first inning before the truckers began chipping away, which included an eight-run second inning, as Predator doubled Average Joes 16-8 in the final.
The team gave a big thank-you to sponsor Trevor White of Predator Trucking and all the players for a great spring season. The team will take part in the provincial finals in September.
