The Prince George Young Guns proved triumphant in a charity flag football tournament last weekend, Nov. 3-4, which took place at Quesnel’s indoor soccer complex.
Six teams participated in the tournament, where the winning team got to choose where to donate $500, and received another $1,500 in prize money to split amongst themselves.
The Young Guns, the only team from out of town in the tournament, opted to split their donation between two Quesnel charities: Big Brothers Big Sisters Quesnel and Crooked Leg Ranch Animal Rescue.
The tournament, put on by Angele and Josh Nutley and sponsored by Booster Juice, Q Fitness, and Hello Promotions, is now in its fifth year. “We just love bringing the community together, and it’s always for a good cause,” says Angele.

Several of Josh’s family members also visited from Ontario to compete with the couple in the tournament.
In the championship game, the Young Guns faced down the Red Zone (the Nutleys’ team).
“They won comfortably,” says Angele, who didn’t have the exact score.
“We put up a good fight, we really did. But they won comfortably. They were just completely strategic and knew everything they were doing. They could read all the plays; it was crazy.”
