Princeton curlers play hard in men’s bonspiel

Fourteen out-of-town teams join Princeton curlers for a tournament from Feb. 3 to 5.

Twenty teams gathered at the Princeton Curling Club from Feb. 3 to 5  for a hard-fought men’s bonspiel.

None of Princeton’s six teams made it to the finals, but the men and their fans had a blast anyway.

“It was very competitive,” said Princeton curler Bob Patterson.

“Twenty teams is a good turnout.”

The A Event went to  Vancouver residents Brendan Willis, Mike Munsie, Howard Maisey and Gord White.

The B Event was won by Cy Gladish, Kim Dickson, Tyler Figitt and Bruno St. Martin.

Finally, Larry Legault, Al Vanderveen, Bobby Neid and Adam Dyble defeated other teams to take the C Event.

A three-day ladies bonspiel kicks off on Feb. 24. Dancing and prizes will be available.
