On Feb. 2, the Steam lost to the Princeton Posse in a 3-2 decision.
The game, at the Princeton and District Arena, began with a Summerland goal at 12:05 in the first period when Cody Loring scored, assisted by Sean Wilson.
In the second period, Achille Casali of the Posse scored at 18:07 to tie the game.
He was assisted by Devin Watson and Justin Fodchuk.
Wilson then responded with a Steam goal at 2:55, assisted by Linden Gove and Cody Swan.
The Posse dominated the third period.
Ethan Schmor tied the game once again with a goal at 6:54, assisted by Brendan Adams and Azam Jiwa.
The deciding goal came at 1:55, when Terrance Josephson scored, assisted by Noah Brusse and Aubrey Macleod.
The next action for the Steam will be on Friday against the Sicamous Eagles.
The game, at the Sicamous and District Recreation Centre, begins at 7 p.m.
The Summerland Steam now hold the second-place position in the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference: Okanagan Division in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.
The Steam, with 22 wins, 16 losses, two ties and two overtime losses, have clinched a playoff spot.
The Posse are the third-place team in the division with 16 wins, 25 losses, one tie and three overtime losses.
