Provincial lacrosse titles will be decided on the mid-Island

Nanaimo and Parksville are co-hosting B.C. Lacrosse Association's female provincials July 11-14

B.C.’s best female lacrosse players will be playing for championship banners the next few days in Nanaimo and Parksville.

The Nanaimo District Lacrosse Association is co-hosting B.C. Lacrosse Association championships for the midget, bantam and peewee girls’ and junior women’s divisions from July 11-14.

The event gets underway Thursday morning and the first local team to take the floor will be the bantam B Nanaimo Timbermen girls, who will face Victoria-Esquimalt at 10:30 a.m. at Oceanside Place.

Later on Thursday, Nanaimo’s peewee B girls will face Langley at 3 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena and the day’s feature game Thursday night will see the Nanaimo midgets face Ridge Meadows at 6 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena. After the game, at 8 p.m., opening ceremonies will be held.

The Nanaimo Timbermen junior women will start tournament action Friday, July 12, with an 8 p.m. faceoff against Coquitlam at Oceanside Place.

On Sunday, July 14, Frank Crane will host the peewee B gold medal game at 10 a.m. and the peewee A gold medal game at 2 p.m.

Over at Parksville’s Oceanside Place, the bantam B gold medal game is Sunday at 8:30 a.m., the bantam A final is at 10:30 a.m., the midget final is at 12:30 p.m. and the junior girls’ gold-medal game is at 2:30 p.m.
