Fourteen Quesnel archers competed at the 2019 Outdoor Provincials in Prince George over the weekend, and each one of them brought home a medal.
The B.C. Outdoor Target Archery Championships were hosted by the Silvertip Archers on Labour Day weekend (Aug. 30-Sept. 1) and attracted 59 archers from across the province.
Archers competed in a single 720-round on the Saturday, where they shot six arrows at a time for 12 ends.
Archers also competed in a 24-target field round on the Sunday, where they walked through woods that had paper targets set up with varying sizes and distances.
Quesnel River Archers member Lora-Lee Murray said it was impressive that all Quesnel archers won medals.
Murray, who won medals on the national stage this season, including gold in 3D and silver in female barebow at the 2019 Canadian Field Archery Championships in Prince Albert, Sask., said she struggled the first day but came first in her category overall.

The championship was the last outdoor competition for the club this season.
Murray said the indoor season will start after the club’s open house at Pioneer Park on Sept. 8, where there will be bows available for first-timers to try out, as well as paper targets and foam 3D targets and a free barbecue lunch.
