Quesnel River Archers win eight medals in Vanderhoof

Dan Yalowega won the meet's hunter round

The Quesnel River Archers won eight medals at a 3D shoot in Vanderhoof this past weekend (July 13-14).

Ten members of the club attended the meet, which was hosted by the Nechako Valley Archers on the local Sportsman Association’s cross country trails.

It was the first time at the shoot for six of the members, so the club’s tally of six gold medals and two silvers was quite impressive.

There were two components to the meet: a main 3D one, which consisted of three rounds of 30 targets, and a hunter course, with an optional extra 10 targets.

Louise Smith, Layton Smith, Kayla Erickson, Angelique Justason, Tristan Yalowega, Becca May Nazaruk, Jarratt Nazaruk and Lora-Lee Murray all won medals, and Dan Yalowega claimed victory in the Hunter round.

While Stu Murray didn’t score any archery medals, he did manage to win a raffle supporting B.C. Children’s Hospital.
