The Oceanside BMX Club held its Race For Life recently, and as usual, a big field of riders, of all ages, turned out for the annual fundraiser.

Played out at Erik Goetzinger BMX Track in Qualicum Beach, the evening, said Oceanside BMX’s Race for Life coordinator Leverne Spencer, “was fabulous. We had 82 riders out… it was a really good night and we raised a lot of money.”

This year marked Canada BMX’s 20th annual Race for Life — B.C. tracks have raised over $329,000 to date. All money goes to the BC Children’s Hospital for leukemia cancer research, and the local club is taking donations until mid-August — for more information go to www.erikgoetzingerbmx.net.
