The Comox Valley Raiders Youth Football annual summer camp takes place Aug. 18-19 at Bill Moore Memorial Park from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. both days.

“We will be holding registration at Bill Moore from the 13th to the 16th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.,” a Raiders’ spokesperson said. “This will mark the first year that we will be having the Peewee age group playing in the fall season.

“Peewee is open for 9-11 year olds. Both the Peewee and the Junior Bantam programs are now involved in the Island Cooperative league which is comprised of six other teams from Vancouver Island including Parksville, Nanaimo, Duncan and Campbell River,” the spokesperson said.

“We are excited to be part of this league as it will improve our athletes through greater competition. Both local high schools, Mark Isfeld and G.P. Vanier, will be fielding teams at the Junior and Senior level. The sad news this year is that Campbell River has folded their high school team due to declining numbers,” the Raiders’ spokesperson said.

“We are once again looking for volunteers and coaches at all levels to help put this season together for our athletes. If anyone would like to help or have questions about any program please have them call Chris Sutton at 250-338-3815 or Pat Pidsosny at 250-792-3873.”
