Rainy weather failed to dampen spirits out at the Terrace Speedway July 30, as the Terrace Stock Car Association hosted another night of excitement on the track.
And in the number 777 bomber, it was Kory Botz’s night to debut for the season, as he took home both the A bomber heat and main events.
“I’d rather race in the rain than any other day,” Botz said of the races, and the weather. He added it was a great feeling to be back on the track this year.
President of the Speedway Terry Reinert also dominated on the track, winning the A thunder heat, with the main going to Tim Grayham.
Reinert said racing started out exciting and only got better when the rain arrived, with cars spinning out and driver Garry King ending up in the swamp.
“Fans stayed to the bitter end and the racers all kept in good spirits,” Reinert said. “All in all, we had a great race evening with lots of fans and a great turn out of cars.”
Next for the Terrace Speedway will be the Aug. 20 annual memorial race day in memory of racers and family who have passed away.
“We hope to see the community out at the races supporting these racers and cheering them on to victory in the big 50 lap race,” Reinert said.
Results from the races are as follows:
A thunder main – Tim Grayham
A thunder heat – Terry Reinert
B thunder heat – Kent Goddard
