Ravens hoopsters win gold

The Eugene Reimer Ravens Grade 8 boys basketball team won gold at a tournament at Langley's H.D. Stafford Middle School last week.

The Eugene Reimer Ravens Grade 8 boys basketball team won gold at a tournament at Langley’s H.D. Stafford Middle School last week.

The Ravens beat Archbishop Carney 39-26 in their opener, with Bobby Narang the top scorer with nine points and Joven Gill picking up player of the game honours. Up next, Reimer knocked off the host Stafford Skyhawks 48-7. Gill led the scoring charge with nine points and Rohit Dhillon was player of the game.

The Ravens faced Stafford again in the final, after the hosts battled through the back side of the draw to get there. The Abbotsford team won 37-25 behind 11 points from Gill, and Josh Dhillon was player of the game.

REIMER WRESTLERS EXCEL

Navdeep Toor led the charge for the Ravens wrestlers at the Western Canadian Age Class Championships in Kamloops.

Toor won gold in the 41 kg category, and was also named top wrestler in the cadet divisions. Akush Sund won bronze at 38 kg, while Jaskarn Sidhu lost in his semifinal match.
