Reaume winds up Nascar XFinity Cup series in Miami

Former Highlands resident takes 33rd at Homestead

Josh Reaume hooked up for one last race on the 2016 NASCAR XFinity Series with the Rick Ware Racing team on Saturday and came away with a 33rd place performance at Miami.

Reaume, for whom the start was his sixth this season, was running at the finish and completed 193 laps of the 200-lap race after starting in 38th spot. Pole sitter Daniel Suarez won the race, which saw 18 drivers on the lead lap at the end.

For Reaume, a former Highlands resident who honed his racing chops at Western Speedway and in Africa on the karting circuit, the result was his second-best of the season, bettered only by his previous outing, a 27th-place effort at Kansas Speedway back on Oct. 15.
