This one was never in doubt as the Rebels played with confidence and authority on the way to a 3-0 win.

Even with close to seven minutes on the power play in the second frame the guests hardly posed a threat, when they did manage to mount an offensive foray goaltender Jordan Gluck was equal to the task.

Defenceman Aaron Brewer put his team ahead for keeps early in the game with a power play effort. Brett Leidl doubled the lead.

Shots on goal were 23-14 for Castlegar.

The Rebels failed to gain ground on the Nelson Leafs who earned a 3-2 overtime win over the Chase Heat. The Leafs, with 57 atop the Neil Murdoch Division continue to enjoy a 2 point lead over the second place Rebels who play the second of a home-and-home Saturday night in Creston, 7:30 at the Johnny Bucyk Arena.
