It’s never easy playing three games in three nights but the Castlegar Rebels managed to earn four out of a possible six points during the tough stretch.
The Rebels hosted the Columbia Valley Rockies on Sunday afternoon and hammered the visiting squad 7-3.
The Rebels shot out to a quick 3-0 lead thanks to first period goals by Jeremy McNeil, Cal Owens and Konnor Madsen.
Owens scored his second goal of the game to make the score 4-0 after one.
In the second, Columbia Valley began to claw its way back into the game as Doan Smith and Ryan Lawson scored to cut the lead to 4-2. However Madsen notched his second of the game to restore a three goal lead for Castlegar.
Dario Piva narrowed the gap to 5-3 before the end of the second.
In the third, the Rebels kicked up the defence to preserve the victory.
Bryan Lubin scored a par in the third to make the final 7-3.
The Rebels ended the three-game set the way they started. On Friday, the Rebels won a tight 3-2 overtime game against the Creston Valley Thunder Cats.
Lubin and Darren Medeiros scored for the Rebels in regulation time while Yannis Soukas was the hero, scoring in overtime.
On Saturday, the local boys found themselves on the wrong end of a 7-2 loss to the Beaver Valley Nitehawks.
Travis Wilkie and Konnor Madsen scored the goals in a losing effort.
Castlegar is now in fourth place in the Neil Murdoch Division, just four points behind the first place Nelson Leafs.
The Rebels next home game is Friday, November 14 when the Kamloops Storm come to town. Puck drops at 7 p.m.
