The Castlegar Rebels are still winless in November.

The team has now dropped all but one of the last 11 games, including a 7-4 defeat at home against Fernie on Friday and a 6-4 loss to Kamloops on Saturday. They remain in the Neil Murdoch Division basement with a 6-12-0-3 record, although they are three points back of fourth-place Grand Forks with three games in hand.

In Friday’s match, the Rebels trailed 1-0 after one and 5-2 after two. Colby Winia and Hunter Maximnuk each had a goal and an assist while Jaedon Little and Jordan Adams chipped in with two assists apiece.

Dawson Rattai made 24 saves in goal in his debut for the Rebels, who actually outshot the Ghostriders by a considerable margin: 53-31.

On Saturday, Castlegar came back from deficits of 1-0 and 2-1 and finished the first period with a 3-2 lead on a powerplay goal by Winia. They were up 4-2 after the second period thanks to a Justin Duguay marker. But Kamloops stormed back in the third, scoring three unanswered goals to take the lead and adding an empty netter to seal the game.

Winia and Duguay finished the night with two goals apiece while Ethan Lawczynski made 21 saves. Shots were 27-22 for Kamloops.

Castlegar’s next game is on the road Friday in Kelowna. They return home Saturday to face Nelson at 7 p.m.
