Owen Hopcott and Kallie Henrotte set new records at the 2013 Chilliwack Elementary Schools Track and Field Meet, held last week at Sardis secondary school.
Representing Watson elementary, Hopcott set a new mark in the nine-year-old boys 200 metre dash, blazing down the track in 32.50 seconds.
Representing Promontory Heights, Henrotte set her mark in the 10-year-old girls ball throw with a mighty toss of 31 metres.
Students between the ages of nine and 12 competed at the meet.
Hopcott was the aggregate winner in the nine-year-old boys division, with Larissa Coté (Unsworth) taking the title on the nine-year-old girls side. Jake Driscoll (Sardis) was the aggregate winner in the 10-year-old boys division, with Kylie Kampton (Unity Christian) and Abbey Hall (Watson) sharing the girls title.
Zack Feaver (Unsworth) was tops in the 11-year-old boys division, with Kate Klassen (Cheam) first on the girls side.
Nate Hall (Watson) was the best of the 12-year-old boys, with Jordan Huitema (East Chilliwack) pacing the girls.
