The Nelson Leafs have clinched their second straight division title.
Jack Karran scored and added three assists as the Leafs beat the Beaver Valley Nitehawks 7-4 on Saturday in Fruitvale to secure first place in the Neil Murdoch Division.
Keenan Crossman, Reid Wilson, Shawn Campbell, Emery Neilson, Kaleb Comishin and Cole Wyatt also scored for Nelson (32-10-2), while Hunter Young stopped 31 shots.
Quaid Anderson, Kevin Duguid, Nathan Ingram and Nolan Corrado replied for the Nitehawks (22-17-5), who left Noah Decottignies on the hook for all seven goals on 38 shots against.
Ingram and Anderson gave the Nitehawks a 2-0 lead in the first period before Crossman and Wilson tied the game in the second.
That set up a wild third, which saw Nelson blow a 4-2 lead before scoring three straight goals. The final period featured four goals — two from each team — in a span of just one minute 56 seconds.
The win was the fifth straight for Nelson, which has outscored opponents 18-6 over the last three games.
The Leafs host the Spokane Braves and Fernie Ghostriders on Friday and Saturday, respectively. They end the season with a road game at Grand Forks on Feb. 22 before returning home Feb. 23 for a rematch against the Braves.
