Oceanside’s Peewee Rep Boys of Summer capped off their season at the provincials in Surrey recently, and while they may have finished out of the medals, they still got to experience the thrill of victory.

According to Reds’ coach Kurt Bowles, the locals went 1-1-3, losing their last game to advance to the semi finals to the eventual champions and host Surrey Eagles in a game decided by a close call at home plate in the top of the sixth inning.

The Reds’ only losses were to the #1 and #2 seeded Surrey and North Delta teams, respectively, “and we finished the highest of any Island team.”
