The Oceanside Generals have a new general manager.
Rick Hannibal takes over the position vacated by Andrew Riddell, who recently stepped down to focus on his full-time employment and career.
The new GM has been a board member with the Generals organization since the 2016-17 season. During that time, Hannibal assisted with player recruitment for the club’s annual spring and main camps, which led to many players calling Parksville Qualicum Beach home.

Hannibal has organized development camps and leagues for more than 10-year and is well connected in the hockey community. The club says the GM position is a natural transition for Hannibal within the club.
“Rick’s strong work ethic and passion for the Oceanside Generals will be the key to our franchises continued success,” the club stated in a press release.
Hannibal has also been involved in developing sponsors, organizing home game theme nights and assisted in a myriad of game day activities.
The club congratulated Hannibal on his new role and looks forward to continuing to work with him in developing players both on and off the ice.
