Rickaby rolls to victory at skate competition

Rob Rickaby took home the $1,000 top prize from the “For the Love of Skateboarding” competition at McMillan Youth Park on Saturday.

Rob Rickaby took home the $1,000 top prize from the “For the Love of Skateboarding” competition at McMillan Youth Park on Saturday.

Rickaby won the sponsored riders’ division at the event, which drew over 100 competitors.

Other division winners included Chris McCaveny (advanced), Shane Kloschinsky (intermediate) and Kyler Hale (beginner). Matt Foster and Mickey Papa split the $500 Chrysler best trick prize.

The event was organized by a local group called Love Bomb, with proceeds from entry fees going to Skatelife, a Christian skateboarding ministry.
