Ridge Meadows looking for juvenile hockey players

RMMHA would like to form a second team but is just a few skaters and a goalie short

The Ridge Meadow s Minor Hockey Association is looking for a few more players to fill out a second team in the juvenile division.

Dan Herbranson, president of RMMHA, said there are close to enough players to fill out a second team, but  a few more skaters and a goalie are needed before making a commitment.

More than 32 players tried out for the juvenile A team. After the squad was selected, it has left about 14 players without a team.

Rick Trulsen, whose son Noah is of juvenile age, said his son is disappointed he won’t get a chance to keep playing recreational hockey in his home town if more players aren’t found.

“It looks like a bunch of these kids are going to have to hang up their skates,” said Trulsen.

“A lot of these kids aren’t looking to go on and play hockey at a higher level. They just want to keep playing for the fun of it.”

Herbransen hopes a few more players can be found in the region to fill out a team, especially a goalie.

Juvenile players are aged between 18 and 20 years old.
