Jacob Marty and Katy Clark received Ridge Meadows Minor Lacrosse Association player of the year awards on Wednesday.
Clark was given the Glen McLean Award for female players.
“Katy is a passionate player and a leader on her team both on and off the floor,” says RMMLA. “She has been a coach for the association for the past three years and has been actively giving back to the RMMLA. The younger players that she coaches absolutely adore her. She has proven to be a wonderful role model and has been an amazing addition to the ongoing success and growth of female lacrosse.”
Marty earned the Glen McLean Award for male players.
“Jacob has played for the RMMLA for more than 10 years and his family has always been actively involved in volunteering and coaching for the association. He is an outstanding mentor for his peers, as well as the younger players. He is highly involved in the refereeing program and giving back to the RMMLA.”
The Tully Award for volunteer of the year – given to a non-executive member who has made the greatest contribution to RMMLA over the last year – was presented to Chris Comeault, for a third time.
“He not only mentors young players, but also mentors older volunteers as well.”
Senior official of the year went to Greg Toll.
