The 2005 Riptide boys played a solid game on the weekend versus Victoria South, and were unfortunate to walk away with a 1-0 loss.
The team responded well from the start of the game, playing a lot more physical, and with far better shape when it had the ball and when it did not have the ball.
There were several scoring opportunties but on this day it was not meant to be.
“We had eight goal-scoring chances to the opponent’s two,” head coach/Riptide technical director Shel Brodsgaard said. “Which was an important statistic for our team to measure, as one of our team goals is to reduce the number of goal chances for the opposition and increase the number of goal chances for ourselves. The key with our (weekend) performance is maintaining the same level of intensity and not allowing our level of play to drop in future games.”
The team is on the road this weekend against Victoria West. The players are collectively understanding their individual and team roles, tactically making them increasingly competitive with each and every game played.
