Robert Bateman Grade 12 student Owen Green is taking his gridiron talents to Idaho in the fall.
The defensive end/tackle recently announced that he has signed with the Lewis-Clark Valley Loggers, an affiliated program of the NCAA playing out of Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho.
Green said he’s looking forward to continuing his football journey with the Loggers.
“I am very excited to announce that I will be attending LCSC to pursue a kinesiology degree while playing football for the LC Valley Loggers,” he shared on his Instagram page. “I would like to thank my coaches, my family and my girlfriend for all of their support and encouragement.”
Idaho does not have any NCAA Division III or II programs, and the Loggers were created to fill that void. They play scrimmages against NCAA Division III rosters on a regular basis, and the Loggers allows players to continue playing football at a high level and potentially attract the attention of other football programs.
Green, 6-1 and 225 pounds, played on the 2018 and 2019 Bateman Timberwolves senior varsity football teams. The 2018 team advanced to the AA provincial final, but lost to the Vernon Panthers inside BC Place.

According to his Hudl profile, Green can deadlift 440 lbs, squat 350, bench 240 and runs a 5.3 40-yard dash.
The Loggers did not compete in 2020, as all games were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The team played eight scrimmages in 2019 running from late-August to mid-October.
