1. Nic Noseworthy
Was credited with a pair of clutch goals over the weekend, but actually only scored one and assisted on the other. The assist came in OT of the Rockets’ 4-3 win on Friday against Nelson, while his timely slapper with just seconds remaining on Saturday salvaged a point for Golden against their division rivals from Creston.
2. Braeden Allkins
It was a rare down week for the dynamic trio of Desrosier, Mckechney and Watt, but Allkins was there to pick up some of the slack as the veteran forward grabbed the OT winner on Friday (the one that was credited to Noseworthy) and had a shorthanded marker a night later.
3. Matthew Krusky
His goal with just two seconds remaining against Nelson set up the heroics from Allkins and Noseworthy. Hasn’t quite found his offensive stride since joining the club on Nov. 1, but has shown he could be a key contributor for the Rockets, who could use some secondary scoring as we head towards the business end of the 2014/2015 season.
The Rockets have a pair of games this weekend, with a home contest tonight against the Castegar Rebels before a road title with the Kimberley Dynamiters.
