The Golden Rockets defeated the Columbia Valley Rockies on October 27 in a Halloween howler grudge match that took the game into double overtime.

In the first period, the Golden Rockets weren’t able to get any goals in on the Rockies, and the visiting team scored two goals.

The Golden Rockets were determined to fight the good fight on Saturday, with Jayden Hendricks scoring the first goal of the game in the second period, unassisted. The home team played hard, ending up with a penalty. Before the time was up, the Rockies also received a penalty, forcing players to go four against four on the ice. But before long, the Rockets got another penalty, now only having three players on the ice against the Rockies’ four players. The Golden Rockets toughed it out, and didn’t let any goals in despite being short on players.

Shawn Grobowsky tied up the game against the Columbia Valley Rockies, but shortly after, they were able to get another goal in on the Rockets, bringing the score up 3-2 for the Rockies. With only a minute and a half left in the second period, Jacob Dewar scored a goal on the Rockies.

Neither team was able to score in the third period, keeping the score tied at 3-3, taking the game into overtime. In second overtime, Grobowky single handedly scored the final and winning goal to end the intense game between rivals.
