Rocky Mountain Rogues Rugby Club looking for team members

The local team plays their championship game in Fernie this coming weekend

This coming weekend the Rocky Mountain Rogues Rugby Club will play their championship game at the College of the Rockies campus in Cranbrook at 1:30p.m.

President of the club, Dale Anderson says the season has been going well so far.

“We had a tournament at the start of the season winning both games against Calgary teams in Fernie; we have won two games and lost one in our league,” said Anderson. “We play the Elk Valley Bulls but we’re hoping to play some more games against different opponents. If we win the championship we have the Saratoga Cup on July 28 and 29 in Pentinction.”

The Rogues train Tuesday at Marysville school and Thursday at COTR at 7p.m.

“We have a guys and a girls team; anyone is welcome to join and you don’t need any experience to play,” said Anderson. “We are always looking for more people to join the team as it builds rugby in the community and we can play more games in the season and go on the road for tournaments and such.”

Good luck to the team at their championship game this coming weekend and be sure to look for their results next week.
