The Harbour City Rollers had no problem rolling over their Nanaimo Nemesis neighbours in the Hometown Showdown this past weekend.

The city’s two Vancouver Island Roller Derby Rookie League teams met Saturday at the Nanaimo Ice Centre for the second time this season, and again the Rollers came out on top, this time by a 205-102 margin.

There are no more scheduled bouts in Nanaimo now until June 25, when the Nemesis host the Comox Rink Minx at the NIC. Then comes the first annual Vancouver Island Roller Derby Tournament over the Canada Day long weekend.
