Jacob Dewar began playing organized hockey when he was only six years old, after his parents signed him up to play with friends.
In his first regular season games with the Golden Rockets, Dewar scored four goals.
From Calgary, AB, the 18-year-old forward chose to come to Golden because it is still close to his home, and his parents can come out to watch games on occasion. Also, Dewar had met head coach Jeremy Blumes before, and knew he was going to run a tight ship on the ice in Golden.
When Dewar was younger, his favourite memory playing hockey was in his second year of atom, at 11 years old, when he won the Missoula, Montana tournament.
Since he was young, Dewar has been working to be a good teammate, and says he has carried those lessons into his career as a Golden Rocket.
“Whenever my team scores, I always tell them good job, or whenever they give me a pass I always thank them,” he said.
