Rugby juniors bash Brentwood

It wasn’t pretty according to coach Kyle MacDonald, but the junior LSS rugby team notched its first win.The marker came on Tuesday, April 19, against Brentwood’s B team.MacDonald said despite the seven-tries-to-two win, he was expecting his side to perform better.“It was a pretty scrambly game,” said MacDonald. “It didn’t have a lot of structure to it.“It wasn’t a classic.”MacDonald noticed a major improvement in the team when they played Shawnigan, but said the juniors played down instead of up when facing Brentwood.“Once we play a decent team, then we get a better indication of whether we are improving.”The forward pack and the back line are showing there is a lot of potential and swapping a few players to different positions has strengthened some softer points in their play. The juniors also played Wellington on April 21. The juniors play Vanier from Countenay away this week.
