There were many out of breath but wet and happy faces as students took part in the annual School District #83 Little Mountain Stomp cross-country run last Wednesday.
The Stomp set a new record for participation, with about 1,000 elementary and middle school students from throughout the school district taking part, including students from King’s Christian School. Also, for the first time this year, kindergarten students were invited to take part and there was a strong contingent.
In the kindergarten boys race finishing in first was Kasen McAllister, second was Mitchell Taylor and third was Kadyn Dunlop. In the kindergarten girls race finishing in first was Tenley Davis, second was Noah Hawrys and third was Jenna Jackson.
In the Grade 1/2 boys race finishing in first was Kian Smith, second was DJ Crowe and third was Hudson Wright. In the Grade 1/2 girls race finishing in first was Kiera Cadden, second was Eden Goldberg and third was Hailey Long.
In the Grade 3/4 boys race finishing in first was Ryder Mead, second was Johnathan Breugem and third was Nathan King.
In the Grade 3/4 girls race finishing in first was Ila Isaac, second was Paige Tremblay and third was Teagan Currie. In the Grade 5/6 boys race finishing in first was Maddux Martin, second was Lucas Sherman and third was Dylan Wasyliw. In the Grade 5/6 girls race finishing in first was Samantha Vukadinovic, second was Sophia Torrie and third was Katie Findlay.
In the Grade 7 boys race finishing in first was Connor Johnson, second was Jonah Rivette and third was Justin Schielke.
In the Grade 7 girls race finishing in first was Phoebe Barnes, second was Lys Milne and third was Sophia Ruckle.
