Saanich and Victoria athletes are back home after a successful B.C. Winter Games, Feb. 22 to 25 in Kamloops.
Victoria badminton players Riley Torstensen and Justin Siu won silver in the boys doubles, and Khushi Brar and Yiwei Luo won bronze in the girls doubles.
Aland Chang and Alayna Jankovic won silver in the mixed doubles. Aaron Lin took silver in the boys singles and was part of the 10-person Zone 6 mixed team that won bronze.
In diving, Victoria’s Curtis Frohloff won double gold, besting the boys three-metre and one-metre events.
Victoria gymnast Gage Reilly won bronze in the boys vault.
The Zone 6 mixed team won gold, featuring several Victoria athletes. Vancouver-Coastal Zone 5 was first with 43 gold, 42 silver and 43 bronze.
In karate, Victoria’s Olivia Brodie won silver in the advanced girls kata and kumite. Victoria’s Ella Crowle won silver in kumite open weight and bronze in kumite for girls 175cm and over. Brodie and Crowle helped the Zone 6 team to silver in the girls kumite team event. Robin Goraya helped Zone 6 win bronze in the boys team kumite.
