Savoy Inn defeated Devito’s Carwash Cardinals 16-4 on Sunday to win the A division final at the Nelson Mixed Slo-pitch playoffs.

A loss to Devito’s on Saturday meant Savoy Inn had to win three in a row Sunday. They first beat Main Jet then downed Total Chaos before overcoming Devito’s, who had finished the regular season atop the standings at 16-2.

Ripping Giraffe also beat The Crew in the B division final, while Kootenay Peaks defeated the Wild Cards in the C division.

The playoffs capped the 25th season of the local slo-pitch league. This year introduced a new award, the R.J. Warren Playoff MVP, which is named for current league president R.J. Warren in honour of his service.
