Seaton Sonics stayed unbeaten in North Zone Junior B Girls Volleyball League play with three straight wins Wednesday.
Aly Lypchuk’s Sonics opened with a 25-14, 25-17 sweep of the Charles Bloom Timberwolves.
Seaton then defeated the Salmon Arm Jewels 25-12, 25-10 in a match that featured 19 consecutive service points at the beginning of the second set from Sophie McKenzie, staking the Sonics to a 19-0 lead.
Seaton then dispatched crosstown rivals Vernon Panthers 17-25, 25-23, 15-6.
“The VSS game was our most challenging game this season,” said Lypchuk. “The girls wanted to win and they proved it by battling back after a loss in the first set to win the second and third sets. They were hustling all over the court and worked hard for every ball.”
Rane Smith and Jayde Brumpton were strong on the net for the Sonics while Rebecca Haberstock was great on defence, making some huge digs.
