Sarah Sawatsky turned in a silver performance at the B.C. Athletics 2011 Track and Field Jamboree, held last weekend in Coquitlam.
Competing in the 20-year-old women’s division, the Chilliwack Track and Field Club athlete placed second in the 400 metre hurdles, clocking a time of 1:02.54.
Sawatsky was the lone local to achieve a podium finish.
Caitlin Leblanc competed in the 14-year-old girls division, placing 10th in the 800m run with a time of 2:36.72.
Leblanc added an 11th place finish in the 1200m with a time of 4:14.76.
Adrianna Lunt (16-year-old girls) placed ninth in the 200m dash with a time of 26.89 seconds.
She did not qualify for finals in the 100m dash. Other DNQ’s came from Levi Halfpenny (16-year-old boys 100 and 200m) and Caitlin Geary (15-year-old girls 100m).
