The Mission Icebreakers earned their second win of the season last Saturday, with a 5-3 score over the Port Moody Black Panthers.
Mission’s junior B hockey team went up three goals in the first period, after an initial power play goal by the Black Cats.
Mattias Schmitt, Kenny Prato and Brendin Logan pocketed the goals for the Icebreakers.
The Panthers worked on a comeback with one goal in the second and another marker at the beginning of the third, but Mission soldiered on with Schmitt scoring his second of the night, and Adam Callegari getting the insurance marker late in the third period.
This win gives the Icebreakers a 2-11 record with six points, putting them at the bottom of the Harold Brittain Conference, tied with the Ridge Meadows Flames.
