Jr Jewels shine

At the Immaculata Regional High School Tournament in Kelowna over the weekend, the Junior Jewels romped past Columneetza Secondary from Williams Lake 60-6.

Player of the game was Ari Sholinder.

Next the Jewels took on Mt. Boucherie, emerging on the high end of a 52-20 score.

Player of game was Trice Tuaiti.

The Jewels then continued their streak, defeating Abbotsford Christian by a score of 47-31.

Player of the game was Hailey Gibb.

In the final game versus Immaculata, the Jewels suffered a close 41-35 loss.

“It was a nice win over Abby,” said coach Lynn Durkee, of the tournament. “The girls played well, but they only shot 12 for 60 versus Immaculata. They missed too many easy shots and turned the ball over a lot, with three of our starters fouling out in the fourth quarter.”

The Jr. Jewels won their last league game on Monday versus Fulton, going 6 and 0. The  league zones are this coming weekend at Kalamalka.
